Our commitment to sustainability at COFERMIN
In 2022, COFERMIN’s management adopted sustainability as a core aspect of the corporate strategy.
In line with our ‘Code of Conduct’, our ESG statement expands on the values we share and the integration of sustainability issues into our corporate strategy and processes. This understanding has also been part of our DNA in the well-known definition of the ‘honourable businessman’ since the COFERMIN Group was founded.
On the journey from strategy definition to implementation in the business process, we are guided by the ISO 26000 standard, which defines our framework conditions.
WATER IS RIGHT
The COFERMIN Group is very closely associated with the ‘WATER IS RIGHT’ (WIR) foundation and provides it with long-term support in the form of donations. In addition, the ‘WIR’ foundation is also provided with office space at the COFERMIN Group’s Essen site.

At COFERMIN, we also endeavour to take responsibility in the economic area of sustainability. We are committed to integrity, credibility and transparency as fundamental values in all our business activities and decisions.
The focus of the COFERMIN GROUP
Our sustainability work focuses on the environment, social issues and corporate governance. In the environmental area, we are committed to clean water, clean energy and climate protection and plan to present 50% of our product carbon footprint data by 2024. In the social area, we promote health, education and decent work, in particular through health programmes and educational opportunities for employees. Our corporate governance is based on integrity, transparency and partnership and is characterised by strict ethical standards and the promotion of the circular economy.
Our goals for the future
Our vision for the future is to continuously improve our sustainability strategies. We plan to further expand our health and safety programmes for employees and introduce new initiatives to promote employee health. We also aim to deepen our partnerships and establish new collaborations in order to achieve our sustainability goals and make measurable progress in reducing CO₂ emissions.
